Sean Penn, famous actor and director, heads for third divorce

On Behalf of Thomas A. Camp, P.C. | Oct 25, 2021 | Divorce, Uncategorized |

Actor, director, and activist are all words used to describe Sean Penn. Now, “recently divorced” can join the list of descriptors.

The 61-year-old academy-award-winning actor was recently served with divorce papers by his wife Leila George.

The filing comes a little more than a year after the couple tied the knot at a “virtual wedding” last summer. The pair dated four years prior to the nuptials. George, who is an actress herself, is the daughter of veteran actor Vincent D’Onofrio.

The union was Penn’s third crack at marriage. His previous marriages to Madonna and Robin Wright also ended in dissolution.

The Southern California native has garnered critical and popular acclaim for his thespian endeavors. He was awarded an academy award for his work in Mystic River (2003) and again in Milk (2008). Penn is also an activist and has generated considerable controversy for many of his extra-theatrical pursuits.

It is not clear if a prenup is in place.

Win your divorce

Divorces, even in the best of circumstances, are messy ordeals. After all, the parties must disentangle their affairs after years of co-existence.

Although the emotion and anxiety are unavoidable, turning your divorce into a new beginning means protecting what you hold dear. We all have things of value – wealth, property, assets, etc. – and it’s critical that these items end up in the right hands.

Contacting an experienced personal injury lawyer is the first step towards the divorce outcome you desire. A lawyer understands the subtleties of the law and can craft a legal strategy to maximize your chances of success.

Athens, Georgia residents shouldn’t hesitate to reach out. The early stages of a divorce have a disproportionate impact on the outcome. If cost is a concern, many lawyers offer a free initial consultation at no out-of-pocket cost to the client.
